Togethering Alumni Microgrants

We are excited to offer microgrants to deepen the impact of your Togethering experience upon your return home. Microgrants can support individual/couple pursuits with a focus on Jewish learning experiences or on group/community building among your Togethering cohort.

Microgrant Details

  • You can expect to hear from a Togethering staff member regarding the status of your microgrant within ten business days
  • You will be required to complete a short report form sharing about the impact of your microgrant funding within two weeks of the funded program or experience. We will also ask that you submit any associated receipts and photos.

Microgrant Funding Guidelines

Grants are based on actual costs.
  • For individuals or couples, reimbursements will cover up to 50% of your total cost, with a maximum grant of $250 per experience.
    • Example 1: If your experience costs $160, you can be reimbursed for 50%, which is $80.
    • Example 2: If your experience costs $600, 50% would be $300, but the maximum grant is $250, so you would be reimbursed $250.
  • For group gatherings (such as Shabbat dinners or holiday celebrations), you may receive up to $10 per Togethering alum who attends, with the maximum number of attendees limited to the number of people in your cohort.
  • If you’re planning a group experience, only one person should submit the application on behalf of the group. Group gathering guidelines will apply. Please note: we cannot accept multiple individual applications for the same shared experience.

COHORT GATHERINGS

There are many moments throughout the Jewish calendar year where we can gather as a community to learn, celebrate, or to support each other. This might include hosting or gathering with your Togethering friends for a Shabbat dinner, a Jewish lifecycle event, or a Jewish holiday (Purim costume party anyone?)!

If you are seeking support for Shabbat, we encourage you to explore OneTable for additional financial support.

CLASSES AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

The broader Jewish community offers many classes and programs related to Jewish learning and enrichment. Offerings could include Hebrew classes, general Jewish learning and cultural exploration, holiday-related webinars (and the list goes on!). Microgrants can support classes and programs on your own or with other Togethering alumni. These can be either a one time experience or multiple sessions.

JEWISH LIFECYCLE EVENTS & MILESTONES

Jewish life is marked by meaningful moments of transition, celebration, and remembrance. Microgrants can support you in honoring these events —such as baby namings, B-Mitzvahs, conversions, and Jewish mourning rituals—by helping to cover the cost of working with a rabbi (counseling, tutoring, or officiating), visiting a mikvah, and more.

OTHER

Microgrants are intended to support your Jewish journey. Your request doesn’t need to fit neatly into the description above. Be sure to give us more details on the next page!
